Little Helper

So, Lottie has become quite the inquisitive little person! She is curious about everything...she touches everything, eats everything and stares at everything! She has also become quite a clingy mama's girl and won't let me do much of anything without her as my sidekick. So, the other morning I was making biscuits and she kept pulling on my pants for me to hold her. I obviously couldn't get what I needed to do completed with her on my leg-so, she got her first cooking lesson! She sat on the counter beside me as I made and cut the biscuits.

She was very interested in the flour....

And she found some musical instruments to play with as well!!

I can't wait till she is really big enough to "help" and has fun cooking with me in the kitchen!

War Eagle!

We enjoyed eating leftover turkey on Friday afternoon and watching Auburn play! We were all nervous as the game started and the first half was no fun....

But, luckily, Auburn pulled through and beat Bama!! WAR EAGLE!!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year-well it is always wonderful! We had so much fun with Lottie and with Micah's parents! Micah's mom cooked an amazing meal and Lottie had her very own plate.

Our little girl LOVES to eat and got excited and anxious for the food before we even got everything on the table! She ate so well and was able to have everything we ate! Her favorite was the cranberry sauce!!! What a fun time-we do indeed have so very much to be thankful for!

THANKFUL!

So, I know it is cliche to do a "thankful" post this time of year but oh well! I have so much to be thankful for and it is never a bad time to share! So, here goes, this year I'm thankful for:
  • My wonderful husband, Micah. He is so patient with me and deals with my emotions and drama with calmness and understanding! Not only does he work hard to provide for our family, he is a huge help around the house-doing far more than his share and WAY more than most husbands! Did you know that he does all of our vacuuming and sweeping and he regularly does the dishes and folds clothes! Yes, I know you other wives out there are jealous! He is amazing! I'm so thankful to be married to my best friend and thankful for a fun and happy marriage!
  • I'm thankful for my precious precious precious baby girl, Lottie! She is such a joy and delight! I never could have dreamed what a joy she would be! We have so much fun watching her play and learn and grow! I feel overwhelmed sometimes at how the Lord has entrusted me to teach her and raise her! I am so lucky to be her mommy and so glad I get to share her precious life!
  • I am thankful for my parents! I have the best relationship with my mom-we talk at least twice a day!! She is the first person that I want to talk to anytime anything happens in my life-I'm so thankful we can share so much! My dad is such a leader and such a role model! He works hard and has always been such a godly example in my life! I have never had to question his love for me and in that I understand my heavenly Father more easily!
  • I'm thankful for my brothers and my sister! Will and Evan were fun to grow up with and I love watching them turn into young men! I am so proud of who they have both become! I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for each of them! I love getting to share my life here in NC with Will and Bekah! I love my sister so much! She is such a fun friend and everything I ever dreamed of for Will! What a fun addition to our family!
  • I'm thankful for my grandparents! I miss my dad's parents and think about them often-holiday's aren't the same without them! I'm thankful to still be able to share the holiday's with my Gran and Bouie, my mom's parents. I am thankful that they know and love Lottie and look forward to spending time with them at Christmas!
  • I'm thankful for my in-laws that I get to share Thanksgiving with this year! Most people don't enjoy their in-laws but I'm blessed! The Messersmith's have welcomed me into their family and they treat and love me like their own. They are encouraging and always offer advice to Micah and I! We always have wonderful visits with them and look forward to each time we can get together! They are always willing to help us and have helped us move at least 3 times! I'm thankful for the support they offer us!
  • I'm thankful for our jobs! In today's world, so many people are searching for jobs or even discontent in their jobs! I love my job and I'm thankful to work with fun women who are also my friends! I'm thankful that Micah has a job that works with his school schedule-i'm thankful that his job has great benefits that provide for our family! I'm thankful that he has fun friends that he works with that encourage him and make his days fun!
  • I'm thankful for our home-the Lord has so provided for us! We have a nice warm home that we can rent while we live here in NC! We have wonderful landlords that are also friends!
  • I'm thankful for our church! We are blessed to be apart of a fun church that is truly a family! We are supported and encouraged by our community group and friends! We love seeing the Lord work at New Covenant Fellowship and thankful to be apart!
  • I'm thankful for my friends-new and old! I may be far away from some of them but I'm thankful for technology and the ability to keep up with the lives of my friends and share our joys across the miles! I'm thankful for my new friends, here in NC and feel blessed to have found friends that I can share this stage of life with!
  • Most importantly, I'm thankful for the Gospel! I'm thankful that the Lord loved me so much to send Jesus! I'm thankful that even though I was lost in my failures, Jesus died so that I can enjoy life with Him forever!
So, I could go on and on! I have a pretty awesome and blessed life! I have more to be thankful for this year than ever before! I love my life and today, I'm thankful!

Will Walk for Puffs!

So, Lottie is up and walking! She is getting really good at taking a few steps at a time. Usually after about 4 steps she falls to one side or the other or lunges into whatever she is walking towards. Well, last night she had a successful walk without falling!! What kept her upright? Her desire to reach her beloved PUFFS! Puffs are corn snacks for babies-they are like cheerios except they are flavored and dissolve quickly in their mouths to prevent choking. Well, Lottie has an obsession with them! I usually keep a carton in her diaper bag for those away from home melt downs and she knows where to find them. We have noticed that she has created her own unique way of getting into them as quickly as possible!!

Share her first steps with us as you enjoy this funny video!!!

10 Months Old!

Hi! It is Lottie again and I am 10 months old today! I am growing and changing so much now let me tell you all about it...
  • I weigh about 20 lbs now-mommy put me on the big scale in her bathroom and that is what it said!
  • I am still wearing 9 month clothes but lately mommy has been trying some 12 month clothes on me and they are starting to fit!
  • I took my first steps this month!!! I can stand all on my own for up to a few minutes and I can take 2 or 3 steps before I fall! Mommy and daddy think I could walk more if I didn't get in such a hurry!
  • I can push my toy all over the house FAST now and I scream and laugh the entire time!
  • I have a few new words this month-"book" and "Nana" (nana is my daycare teacher)
  • My new favorite foods are mandarin oranges and cheese ravioli! I love almost anything but mommy says I "shovel" those foods!
  • I am a big girl now so mommy only nurses me twice a day-first thing in the morning and then last thing at night. I don't like this at all and sometimes I get angry and throw my sippy cup to let her know that I would rather nurse-but she refuses to give in! She says it is time for me to grow up.
  • I have 7 teeth now--my mouth is getting pretty full!! I smile a lot to show them off!
  • I can dance now and I dance anytime I hear music!
  • It is cold outside now so I sleep in fleece footie pjs! They are soft and warm and mommy loves to snuggle me when I am in them!
  • One of my favorite things to do is help mommy with the dishes! I stand at the dishwasher while she loads and unloads and we chat about our days.
  • My favorite toy is my jack in the box right now! Seeing that bunny pop up never gets old and I laugh and squeal every time!
  • I point to things that I like now and I can sign "more" when I want more food at dinner!
  • I just learned how to clap my hands and play pat-a-cake! It is so fun!
  • I am getting too big for my baby car seat so mommy and daddy are shopping for a big girl seat for me! I can't wait and I hope they find me a pretty one!
  • I am super silly! I squeal and giggle all the time! Check out the video below to get a glimpse of the joy I bring into my house!
  • My mommy and daddy love me SO much! I hear them talk all the time about how they love me more and more everyday!
